Birth: 26 January 1870 at Parramatta, New South Wales, son of native-born Samuel Schofield (1831-1905) farmer, and Grace Amelia, née Retallack (1838-1874), born at Manaccan, Cornwall, England. Marriages: (1) 21 November 1891 at Marrickville, Sydney, NSW, to native-born Constance Evelyn Throwden [or Throden] (1871-1900). They had two sons. (2) 4 November 1905 at Sydney, to native-born Henrietta Frances (Ettie) Crampton (1880-1945). They had one daughter and seven sons (two of whom died in childhood). Death: 28 May 1942 in State Hospital and Home, at Liverpool, NSW. Religion: Anglican.
