Birth: 28 May 1870 at Paignton, Devon, England, son of Richard Watson Pollard (1828-1910), yeoman farmer, and Emma Vellock, née Haswell (1838-1911), private school mistress. Marriage: 27 April 1892 at Dubbo, New South Wales, to native-born Caroline Colbran (1873-1953). They had one daughter and one son. The marriage ended in divorce. Death: 13 October 1951 at South Hurstville, Sydney. Religion: Anglican.
