O'Connor, William Patrick (1877–1959)

William Patrick O'Connor (1877-1959) coal lumper, trade union leader, alderman 

Birth: 12 December 1877 Sydney. Son of Patrick and Margaret O’Connor. Married: 1901 Sydney, Evelyn Cicely Duffy. Two sons. Died: 7 April 1959. Buried in Catholic section of Botany cemetery.

Secretary Sydney Coal Lumpers' Union.

Convicted 27 January 1910 of taking part in meeting assembled for the purpose of aiding in the continuance of a strike and sentenced to eight months hard labour.  Released from Maitland gaol 17 May 1910. Associates also gaoled: Peter Bowling, James Butler and Daniel Hutton.
