Birth: 29 April 1838 at Port Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Scotland son of Samuel McMurrich (1803-1880), joiner, and Catherine, née Orr (1812-1885). Marriage: 26 May 1860 at the Scots Church, Sydney, by Rev Dr Lang, MP, to Ann Hurley (1837-1891), a laundress, born at Mullingar, Westmeath, Ireland, who arrived in Sydney in March 1857 aboard the Mary Ann as an assisted immigrant. They had no children. Death: 10 March 1917 at Liverpool Asylum, NSW. Religion: Presbyterian.
