Birth: 6 June 1906 at Melbourne, Victoria, son of Edward Cecil Joshua (1867-1922), a distiller born in Mauritius, and Melbourne-born Mary Inglis, née Drummond (1876-1963). Marriage: 27 November 1927 at St Roch’s Catholic Church, Glen Iris, to Alma Agnes Watson (1905-2000), a schoolteacher born at Malvern, Victoria. They had five daughters and one son. Death: 2 June 1970 at Ballarat. Religion: Anglican.
