Frank Eustace (Scobie) Everitt (1900- 1968) telecommunications technician, and trade union official 

Birth: 24 March 1900 at Norwood, South Australia, son of English-born parents Frank Everitt (c.1869-1913), doctor, from Ventnor, Isle of Wight, and Alma Rose, née Dunkerton, later Read (1878-1958), from Battersea, Surrey.  Marriage: 2 April 1927 in the Congregational Church at Glenelg, SA, to Mabel Jane Smith (1899-1976). They had one daughter. Death: 7 April 1968, in Melbourne, Victoria. Religion: Anglican.

• Brought up at Meningie, Lake Albert, SA, where his father was the local doctor.
• Worked as technician, Engineering Division, Postmaster-General’s Department (PMG), in South Australia.
• Joined Postal Telecommunications Technicians’ Association (then Australian Postal Electricians' Union), in 1916. Elected committee-member of SA branch from 1919 to 1927. Vice-president SA Branch 1928. President SA Branch 1929-31. Elected honorary secretary for record term of 27 years, from 1934 to 60.
• Federal president of PTTA in 1943-1944. Trustee of SA Branch. Stalwart of Glenelg branch, ALP.
• Retired from the PMG department in March 1965. In September 1965 awarded the Imperial Service Medal.
• Cause of death: bronchopneumonia, multiple carcinomatosis, primary carcinoma prostate.
