Birth: 1914 at Lochgelly, Fife, Scotland, son of Peter Duffie (1889-1957), miner, and Agnes Young, née Naysmith (1889-1971). Marriage: 18 November 1933 at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Cessnock, New South Wales, to native-born Margaret Tomlinson (1914-1995). They had three sons. Death: 5 January 1982 in his residence, Cessnock, New South Wales. Religion: Methodist.
