George Dent (?-?) baker and democratic activist 

Birth: details unknown. Death: details unknown. 

  • Worked as a baker. Involved in South Australian Journeymen Bakers' Society in 1840. Active in worker agitation against the SA Masters and Servants law in 1847.
  • Prominent defender of John Stephenson, editor of South Australian Register, prosecuted as a result of reporting the Burra mining dispute in 1848.
