HAROLD RICHARD INGOLDBY WEBSTER, son of Mr. William Frederick Webster and Mrs. Annie Webster, was born on 28th July, 1896, at Fifield, New South Wales, and was educated at the Millthorpe Public School. He entered the Bank’s service at Millthorpe on 10th May, 1913. On 20th January, 1914, he was transferred to Forbes; to Trundle on 28th July, 1915, and on 16th October of the same year to Head Office (Inspector’s Department).
Harold Webster enlisted in the A.F.A., on 31 st March, 1916. He joined the 12th Battery and soon received promotion to bombardier; became corporal on 30th September of that year, and temporary-sergeant on 23rd December, 1917. For a period of one year he saw service in France, and received his discharge on 3rd April, 1919.
