Mary Yench Seymour (1800–1852)
Mary Yench Seymour née Stewart was the daughter of a convict. She accompanied her mother to Sydney on the Kangaroo in 1813. She had a daughter, Selina, in 1822, with Hugh Barnes, an ordinance and artillery sergeant. Hugh died in that same year and she married George Seymour (in that same year).
By the mid 1830s George had left her and was living with Elizabeth Reynolds. Mary was arrested in 1837 and spent a month in gaol. She gave her occupation as straw bonnet maker.
