ENRY MALCOLM RIXON was born at Bega, New South Wales, on 17th August, 1882, the son of the late Mr. James Rixon and of Mrs. Rixon. He was educated at the Bega Grammar School.
Entering the service of the Bank at Port Macquarie, New South Wales, in November, 1901, he was appointed accountant there in June, 1907; transferred to Tamworth, as ledger-keeper, in May, 1908; to Head Office (Inspector’s Department) in November, 1911; to Moree, as teller, in July, 1912; and to Forbes, as accountant, in September, 1914.
Henry M. Rixon enlisted in the A.I.F. on 8th March, 1916. He was on active service in France from December, 1916, to August, 1918, as a member of the 53rd Battalion, and was badly wounded. He was promoted to lieutenant on 29th November, 1917, and received his discharge on 31st August, 1919.
