ARRY LIONEL RING was born on 29th June, 1894, at Goodwood, South Australia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Ring, of Adelaide. He was educated at the Pulteney Street High School, Adelaide, and joined the Bank’s staff at Port Adelaide on 3rd May, 1913. His subsequent transfers were to Moree, New South Wales, in April, 1914; and to Coonamble, as ledgerkeeper, in August, 1915.
Harry Ring enlisted in the A.I.F. 43rd Battalion on 16th December, 1915, and left Australia in June, 1916. He was on active service in France until the end of the war, having been promoted to sergeant in January, 1917, and he received his discharge in October, 1919.
