Henry Peters (1914–1980), station hand, was born at Bangate station near Angledool, New South Wales, in 1914 to Ben Peters and Dahlia Foster. He married Doreen Simpson and they had eight daughters, Marjorie, Elaine, Lillian, Marie, Lorraine, Doreen, Valerie, and Jennifer, and two sons, Cecil and Douglas. After suffering cardiac arrest, he died on 16 September 1980 and was buried in the Church of England cemetery, Walgett.
