Edward Overton (?–?)

Edward Overton was a marine in the 5th (Portsmouth) Company when he arrived in Sydney in January 1788 aboard the Charlotte (after embarking on the Sirius) as part of the First Fleet. He served in Captain James Campbell's Company at Port Jackson.

He is possibly the father of a child named John Ovelton, by an unnamed convict woman, who was sent to Norfolk Island on the Sirius in March 1790 and seems to have not survived (or may have taken on the surname of foster or adoptive parents).

Edward Overton returned to England on the Gorgon in December 1791.
