Daughter of Richard Onians, Esq., of Shropshire, England, and Charlotte Onians, of Herefordshire, England.
MAIN INTEREST. Hon. Secretary and Hon. Organiser of City Newsboys’ Society since 1896, whose motto is “Not to make Money but to make Men, ” and whose object is to help boys to become good citizens and thus prevent delinquency. Keenly interested in Social Work in the interests of children generally.
ACTIVITIES. First woman Special Magistrate appointed to Children’s Court and also a Court Probation Officer. Only woman on the Street Trading Board since its inception in 1926, and Victorian Vocational and Child Guidance Centre. Has been abroad three times studying Welfare Work.
HOBBIES. Literature (author of “The Men of Tomorrow”), Art.
