Jane Fitzsimmons, a 25-year-old housemaid, arrived in Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) aboard the Gravesend in 1858. She could read and write and gave her native place as Durham. She married William Mulligan on 27 September 1860 at St Mark's, Pontville. She died on 17 December 1908 at Bridgewater, Tasmania.
