Solomon Moses arrived in Sydney aboard the Arnundel in 1832. In 1834 he was working on a stall in the market place at Sydney. He married Deborah Hart on 28 January 1835. They moved to Goulburn that same year where he opened the Travellers' Home Inn. In 1841 he opened the Royal Hotel, Goulburn.
