MOUNT GAMBIER. October
Mrs. John Frew, of Hedley Park, was found dead in her bed by her husband at 2 o'clock this morning. Although she had been ailing occasionally for along time she appeared in good health and spirits yesterday and last evening and her death was quite unexpected. The position of the deceased when she was found to be dead indicated that she had died in fit. Dr. Jackson, who was immediately called, stated that her death resulted from epilipsy. The deceased lady was one of the earliest residents of the Mount, having arrived with her first husband (Mr. Alex. Mitchell) in 1854. When the land was sold in 1855 Mr. Mitchell purchased several sections, including the site of the town, which be afterwards divided into allotments.
She remained the largest owner of town property, and possessed some valuable blocks outside.
