James Meredith (1790–?)

James Meredith was baptised on 9 May 1790 at St Philip's Church of England, Sydney. He was the son of marine Captain James Meredith and convict Mary Johnson (alias Mary Hughes). James jnr travelled back to England with his father, but without his mother, on the Gorgon in December 1791. He was commissioned a lieutenant of marines in May 1811 and was living at Monmouth, Monmouthshire, Wales, in 1841.
