William McLoughlin (1865-1896) was the second child of Michael McLoughlin and Mary Murphy. He was born at Kyneton, Victoria, in 1865 and married Ellen Angela Dowling in Melbourne in 1894. The couple had two children, Mary Veronica and William Thomas.
The McLoughlins went to the Murchison River minefields in Western Australia with William's brother Patrick. William was killed in an accident near Mt. Magnet on 29 September 1896 at the age of 30. His widow and children returned to Victoria.
