WILLIAM DONALD GLENROY McGREGOR, son of Mr. William McGregor, Postal Inspector, G.P.O., Brisbane, and Mrs. Mary McGregor, was born at South Brisbane on 20th July, 1893. He was educated at Private and State Schools, Brisbane, and also the High School at Southport.
He entered the service of the Bank at South Brisbane on 2nd December, 1909. His subsequent transfers were to Brisbane in 1910, Charters Towers in 1912, Irvinebank in 1913, and Croydon in 1914.
He enlisted in May, 1916, and proceeded to France to join the 12th Machine Gun Company. He was still with this Company during the attack on Passchendaele Ridge on 13th October, 1917, and during the engagement was killed instantaneously by an enemy shell.
