Alexander Luchetti (c. 1823–1902)

Luchetti, Alessandro/Alexander (c.1823-1902) farmer 

Birth: c. 1823 in Ancona, Italy, son of Antonio Luchetti. Marriage: 18 July 1858 at St Bernard’s Church, Hartley, New South Wales, to Sarah Jennings (1833-1908), who had been born at Shrule, Mayo, Ireland. Bride and groom signed with their mark. They had six sons and two daughters. Death: 26 April 1902 at Bowenfels Road, Lithgow. Religion: Catholic.

After a few years as a sailor he arrived in New Zealand about 1842 then moved to New South Wales and settled in the Hartley district. He became a farmer at nearby Lowther and was a trustee of the local Catholic church site in 1877.
