Birth: 2 March 1907 at Northcote, Victoria, son of native-born parents James Stephen Lannan (1858-1939), farmer, and Emily, née Penglase (1868-1945). Marriage: 28 November 1942 at Immaculate Conception Church, Ivanhoe, Victoria, to Annie Josephine Killeen (1908-1990). They had three sons, one of whom died in infancy. Death: 27 January 1986 in his residence at Elphin Street, Alphington, Melbourne, Victoria. Religion: Catholic.
