John Hume (?–?)

John Hume, was a sergeant of marines in the 14th (Portsmouth) Company when he arrived at Sydney aboard the Prince of Wales with his wife Sarah in January 1788 as part of the First Fleet. A daughter was born in the colony. Hume served in Captain James Meredith's Company at Port Jackson. He returned to England with his family on the Gorgon in December 1791; his daughter died during the voyage.
