Daughter of Albert Alexander Cochrane Le Souef, who arrived in Melbourne in the “Eagle” on October 20, 1840. Mother, Caroline Cotton, daughter of John Cotton, who arrived in Melbourne in the "Parkdale” in 1843, and bought a large station property, “Dookallook,” on the Goulburn.
Married the late Wallace Grant, Pastoralist, son of James Grant, of “Tulloch- gorum,” Tasmania, whose father arrived in Tasmania in 1824, chartering his own ship, “The Hermione,” and bringing sheep, cattle and goods, and took up large tracts of land in Tasmania. His breeding of the finest Merino sheep (which had always been his advice to his family) made it possible for him to send wool to the Paris Exposition of 1855, for which he was awarded a Bronze Medal of Merit and a certificate signed by Napoleon III., and in the same year his wool exhibit at the Exhibition in Hyde Park, London, gained for him an Order of Merit and a certificate signed by Prince Albert.
Family, son and daughter: Wallace Kingsley, educated at Malvern Church of England Grammar School; Hazel Wallace, educated at Lauriston; she also graduated through the National School of Arts and has been presented at Court.
