Elizabeth Wallis, kitchenmaid, was sentenced to seven years transportation for stealing shoes. She arrived in Sydney in 1837 aboard the Henry Wellsley. She had no previous convictions. Her height was given as 5 feet 5 inches, she had a ruddy freckled complexion and was a little pockpitted, with light hair and grey eyes
