Ann Bellett was born on Norfolk Island on 30 April 1798, the daughter of Jacob Bellett and his wife Ann née Harper. Ann left Norfolk Island with her family for Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the City of Edinburgh in 1808. She married Edward Garth jnr on 4 November 1816 at St David's Hobart. She died on 29 April 1896 at Hobart. Her cause of death was given as 'senile decay'.
