Mr. Michael Farrell, well-known in Rockhampton, as having been at one time one of the firm of Mulvena, Cranley, and Co., and formerly of New South Wales, died suddenly yesterday afternoon. It appears the unfortunate man complained of being unwell in the morning, and that about 3 p.m. he sat himself down on a form in front of the Cricketer's Arms Hotel, when he was seen to fall to the ground. He was immediately picked up and carried into the hotel, and Drs. Salmond and Robertson were quickly in attendance, but it was evident there was no hope of his recovery. The immediate cause of death is not known, but it is believed the heat of the weather had very much to do with it.
