William Dowlan ( -1790) was a marine in the 6th (Plymouth) Company when he arrived at Sydney aboard the Alexander in January 1788 as part of the First Fleet. He served in Captain James Campbell Company at Port Jackson where he worked as a carpenter and sawyer. He died on 4 May 1790 'of a flux and fever att Rose Hill' according to John Easty.
