Judah Dougherty (?–1792)

Judah/Judith Dougherty arrived at Sydney, with her marine husband and newborn son, Daniel, aboard the Prince of Wales in January 1788 as part of the First Fleet. Judah had two more children (daughters) in the colony before the family returned to England on the Gorgon in December 1791. Judah and her youngest daughter died during the voyage.

Ralph Clark mentioned her death on 22 February 1792 in his journal:

Wednesday 22d.
More Moderate — Made Sail — this day departd this life Jude Dougherty one of the Marines wives — She was only brought to bed two days before we Saild from Port Jackson — She has left three young Children — commited the Body to the Deep
