Richard Dalton arrived with his father, mother and siblings in Sydney in 1804 aboard the Experiment. His father Richard was employed as constable, deputy gaoler and master of the Sydney Benevolent Asylum.
Richard married Gorina Severson in 1821. Following her death he married Catherine McGrady in 1829.
