Isabel Margaret Coverlid (?–1947)

Daughter of the late J. C. Smith, Esq., “Tasma,” Muir Street, Hawthorn, who was the Australasian and Victorian Grand Secretary of Independent Order of Oddfellows, and Marion Booker, whose parents arrived in 1842 in Dendy’s ship. The eldest daughter of John Booker was first white child born in Brighton, Melbourne.

Wife of the late Francis A. Coverlid, Esq., member of well-known Richmond firm of Auctioneers, and son of John Coverlid, one of Victoria’s early pioneers.

ACTIVITIES. Life Governor of the Alfred Hospital; Life Member of Alfred Hospital Auxiliary; Hon. Secretary, Camberwell Branch of Alfred Hospital Auxiliary; Member Camberwell Local Association of Girl Guides; Hon. Secretary, Lady Mayoress’s League, Camberwell Branch No. 16, during the War years. Vice-president, Malvern Auxiliary Y. W. C. A.

CLUBS. Member of East Camberwell Croquet Club, Member of Overseas League, Member of Y. W. C. A.

HOBBIES. Gardening and Knitting.
