Born, Hay, New South Wales. Daughter of George Cross, Esq., a pioneer business man of the Riverina district, New South Wales (still living at the age of 81), and the late Ellen Cross.

Wife of Thomas J. Confoy, Esq., Governing Director of The Southern Cross Assurance Company Limited, Melbourne.

Family, three sons and a daughter. Sons: Edward, John, Leslie, all educated at St. Francis Xavier College, Kew. Edward and Leslie are both connected with father in the business arena. John is settled on the land at Frankston Road, Dandenong, and is well known in sporting circles. Daughter: Mrs. Celie Strike, wife of Alex. Strike, Esq., Departmental Executive of the Southern Cross Assurance Coy. Ltd., and educated at St. Joseph’s Convent, Goulburn, N. S. W.

COMMITTEES. Hon. Treasurer, Autumn Appeal, St. Vincents de Paul’s Society; Member of the Auxiliaries Committee of St. Vincent’s Hospital.

HOBBIES. Well-known racehorse owner, and amongst the most prominent carrying her colours are: Prince Leo, Croscon, Concross, Gidyah and Crossfoy. Keen judge of antique spoons and possesses a fine collection. Tennis.
