Born, Sydney, New South Wales. Grand-daughter of W. H. Vale, Esq., an early Victorian pioneer, whose home was one of the first built in Geelong, and who, in the year 1853, chartered vessels to convey building material to Geelong for the purpose of constructing a town. The crews, however, deserted to participate in the gold rush , with a result that Mr. Vale was burdened with very heavy demurrage. Daughter of the late Charles Vale, of Geelong, Victoria, who settled in Geelong in 1887.

ACTIVITIES. Life Governor of Women’s Hospital; President of Caulfield Branch of Ministering Children's League; Hon. Secretary and President for six years of Caulfield Women’s Hospital Auxiliary; Hon. Secretary, Caulfield South Branch of A. W. N. League; Associate Member of National Council of Women. During Great War (1914-1918) was one of the first active workers assisting Red Cross Soldiers’ Lounge, St. Kilda. Interested in all forms of Social Welfare work.

HOBBIES. Golf, Tennis, Music.
