
Born, Nundle, New South Wales. Daughter of the late Mrs. Emma and John Schofield, who arrived in Australia in the year 1853. Mr. Schofield for many years followed mining pursuits and later took up permanent residence at Nundle, near Tamworth, New South Wales, as a farmer and grazier.
Wife of Herbert Charles Brown, C. B. E., Secretary to the Department of Interior; son of William Brown, of Deal, Kent, England. Family, four sons: Gordon Stanley, Sherwin Wyman. Herbert John, and Victor Leslie. All educated at Melbourne. Gordon at present at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, U. S. A., where he holds a responsible position.
CHARITIES. Life Governor of the Queen Victoria and Women’s Hospitals. President of the Rosemary Club, whose aim is to assist the Women’s Hospital. Past member of Auxiliaries of the Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind and Alfred Hospital.
