Walter Bateman (1826–1882)

We regret to announce the death of Mr. Walter Bateman, a member of the well-known Fremantle firm of Messrs. J. & W., Bateman, which occurred at about five o'clock yesterday (Sunday) morning. The deceased, who had been ailing for some time past, was buried this afternoon in the Old Cemetery, when a large number of persons assembled to pay their last tribute of respect to his memory.
