James Bagley was a marine corporal in the 45th (Plymouth) Company. He arrived in Sydney, with his wife and daughter, aboard the Sirius in January 1788 as part of the First Fleet. He served in the colony in Captain Watkin Tench's company. He returned to England with his family on 13 December 1791 aboard the Gorgon, arriving home on 29th June 1792.
