Lady Argyle (Violet Ellen Jessie) Daughter of the late Thomas Lewis, of the Bank of Australasia in Tasmania and Mel­bourne, who married Miss Abbot, of Tasmania. Born, Blackwood, Victoria. Educated, Privately. Married in 1895 Sir Stanley Argyle, K.B.E., M.B., Ch.B., M.R.C.S., M.L.A. (Premier and Treasurer of Victoria, Minister for Health) former Chief Secretary of Victoria, and Minister of Health in various Govern­ments, Lieut.-Colonel A.I.F., who went with the first hospital in 1914, and served in Egypt, Gallipoli and France.

Family, two sons, two daughters: Thomas Stanley, Hector Stanley, Mrs. Esmond Lillies and Mrs. Eric Woodruff Hill.

CHARITIES. Committee of Lady Northcote Free Kindergarten, President for ten years, and now Vice-president of the Toorak and South Yarra Branch of the Alfred Hospital Auxiliary.

HOBBIES. Gardening, Swimming.

CLUB. Quamby.
