Amy Bowles Phillips married her cousin Matthew Bowles Alt on 16 May 1786. She accompanied her husband, a midshipman, on the voyage of the Sirius to Sydney as part of the First Fleet. She left the ship however (as Mrs Holt) on 20 May 1787 and boarded the Hyaena to be returned to shore. She died on 17 January 1817 at London.
