Cultural Advice

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be aware that this website contains names, images, and voices of deceased persons.

In addition, some articles contain terms or views that were acceptable within mainstream Australian culture in the period in which they were written, but may no longer be considered appropriate.

These articles do not necessarily reflect the views of The Australian National University.

Older articles are being reviewed with a view to bringing them into line with contemporary values but the original text will remain available for historical context.

Show Help

Click the Draw Graph button to generate the graph. By default the graph shows the families of the initial fleeters (green circles) and their first and second generation descendants. Clicking on a number or colour in the generations legend (shown once the graph is drawn) will display the family connections for the selected generation and earlier generations. That is: selecting generation 0 will show fleeters' family connections; selecting generation 1 will show fleeters' families and their children's families; and selecting generation 2 will show fleeters' families , their children's and grandchildren's families.

Click on any of the connection lines to see the number of marriage relationships between the families, which generation(s) the connections are made and the individuals the connection represents (thin lines represent a single relationship). Hold the left mouse button over a node and move the mouse to move a node. Hold left mouse button while moving the mouse to move the graph. Use the mouse wheel to zoom.
