James Grant (?–?)

James Grant, a marine drummer in the 56th (Portsmouth) Company, arrived at Sydney aboard the Alexander in January 1788 as part of the First Fleet. He was reduced to private, 8th Company on 10 July 1788 and was attached to Captain James Campell's Company.

Grant joined the New South Wales Corps on 6 April 1792 as a private. He served on Norfolk Island from October 1794 until he was discharged from the corps at Port Jackson on 6 April 1797. No further information has been traced for Grant.
