William John Coleman (1824–1905)

William Coleman was the son of a British soldier, George Coleman, who was based in Parramatta, Sydney and Norfolk Island during 1831-1837 on convict guarding duties. George was sent to India in 1837 and was discharged in 1840. By 1843 he was living in South Africa with his family. William lived the remainder of his life in South Africa. His death certificate states he was a retired civil servant.
